Thursday, February 26th, 2009
CHICAGO — Anritsu Company (booth #68036) introduces at Supercomm today the industry’s first single-instrument solution for differential electrical jitter testing of 10G XFP modules, as well as the electrical interfaces connecting host cards to the modules. Enhanced with a unique 10 Gb differential input/output (I/O) feature, the MP1590B network performance tester is a superior testing alternative for design engineers responsible for the verification of XFP modules, as well as carriers who must ensure the performance of their networks.
With the differential I/O feature, the MP1590B provides more accurate results than existing solutions that perform single-ended electrical analysis or that verify optical performance. Such non-differential jitter tests yield very different and inappropriate results. The MP1590B provides highly accurate electrical measurement of all more

Shenick Launches IPTV Tester
Thursday, February 26th, 2009
CHICAGO and DUBLIN — “You can think of us as 10,000 TV viewers crammed into a little black box,” says Shenick Network Systems’
co-founder Robert Winters. “Those 10,000 viewers have always been there, and we’ve now enhanced diversifEye so that it can also function as a single viewer’s pair of eyes.”
Shenick’s diversifEye is a testing tool that ensures that the many systems that drive the Internet do what they’re supposed to do. Constant quality testing of this infrastructure has always been important, and it is even more crucial now, with the emergence of so-called triple play services, the increasing convergence of voice, video and high-speed Internet — and the growing risk of security attacks, which comes with it.
Essentially, diversifEye emulates regular Internet user and Internet more

ETSI Touts Testing Language
Wednesday, February 25th, 2009
SOPHIA ANTIPOLIS, France — The annual International TTCN-3 User Conference for test experts using the ETSI scripting language TTCN-3 (Testing and Test Control Notation) was recently held at ETSI. The theme this year was to show the continued uptake and use of TTCN-3 in diverse fields of application. The conference demonstrated that TTCN-3 is used in both small and large development projects and is seen by many as a key component to efficient and cost effective validation and testing.
Detailed presentations showed the increased use of the language outside of the classical telecoms domain. This includes new Internet-related protocols such as IPv6 and RIPng, Intelligent Transport Systems (automotive and railway), financial sector applications and even web content. This wide range shows the potential of TTCN-3 to become a leader in its field. Indeed, TTCN-3 is being seen by more
